superwind 1050 ™ – Progress report.
In 2008, superwind GmbH (Germany) and Starboard Sun (USA) began an important co-development program to create a robust – real world ready – 1k watt wind turbine generator: the “superwind 1050 ™”.
Based on the success and patent protection associated with the German Made “superwind 350” wind turbine, the “1050” left the design table in 2009 with actual component testing and qualification verification. Like the 350, it was crucial that this new larger turbine have the same reliable “feathering pitch” blade over-speed protection combined with heavy duty power output and the world’s best materials – all designed with the best German Engineering possible.
Wind Tunnel and Real World Testing proved the final blade set design in early 2010 and complete unit testing is now underway. We already have a number of beta testers in place and it is likely that the superwind 1050 ™ will be ready for quality full run production – Made in the USA – by Q4, 2011.
That’s right, in 2010 it was announced by superwind GmbH and Starboard Sun, that the new superwind 1050 would be produced for global distribution from Starboard Sun’s headquarters in western New York.
