Superwind 350

The superwind 350is a micro wind generator designed for marine and off-grid environments – a sea durable system that has been relied on by professionals for over a decade. The electric power generated by a properly installed Superwind turbine kit charges batteries that can in turn power on board or off-grid systems without ever overcharging or damaging your battery bank. The turbine kit is available in 12 or 24 volts and even expensive AGM batteries are safe with our advanced wind charge controller system.  For special applications, the superwind 350 is also available as a standalone 48v unit – and all our turbines include a safety switch for ease of safe proximate operations.

We are proud of the fact that our commercial clients appreciate our uncompromising quality and “word of mouth success” has been due to robust engineering combined with extremely reliable and unbelievably “quiet” operation.  Add to this Superwind’s patented automatic “feathering” pitch controlled rotor blade system – allowing maximum charging without the danger of over-speed - and you will quickly realize that Superwind is the best source for “Silent Reliable Power” for commercial mission critical applications.  Remember, this wind turbine was designed for autonomous and unattended operation – it is NOT a plastic “hobby wind charger”…  This is commercial, professional use, wind power generation equipment!

The Superwind 350 features:

  • High Output – Low Noise
  • Pitch controlled rotor blades
  • Compact Dimensions with Big Performance
  • Saltwater proof materials
  • Neodymium magnets
  • “Brushless” Electric Generation
  • Zero Maintenance Design
  • Three year warranty on ALL kit components!

Each superwind 350 unit has been specially designed to withstand extreme environments; salt spray, sand, silt, dust, and extreme temperature swings from dessert heat to extreme cold are all in a day’s work for our micro wind turbine.  The entire unit is comprised of saltwater-proof aluminum and stainless steel – multi-sealed to stay water tight.  The nacelle and tail also combine to make a super-efficient heat sink – so even in tropical conditions combined with heavy wind the superwind keeps its cool.  “Tight is right” in extreme conditions and each unit was also engineered with expansion/contraction points that will not loosen and fail.

It is no wonder that our turbine is relied upon for mission critical work such as applications for navigational aids, traffic control systems, environmental monitoring stations, repeater stations, transmitters, border security power, warning systems and disaster relief stations.

While there is a softer side of integration for our equipment, such as sailing yachts, outdoor sign lighting, off-grid homes and remote cabins – you should know that every superwind 350 turbine is Made in Germany to the same “rough and ready heavy duty use” standards.

For any wind turbine application proper average wind speed assessment and location siting considerations are always recommended.  In areas with less than ideal seasonal wind patterns, it is very common to create a dual charging system that incorporates both the advantages of wind power with solar photovoltaic resources.  In many applications our wind turbine is partnered with small solar arrays – and our experienced staff can help you integrate all these components with ease.

To the left of this page is more detailed information about this product including power curves, mechanical drawings, helpful integration specs and mission integration photos.  Also at the ready is our professional staff – and we are happy to answer any questions you may have about this and other superwind products and applications.  We look forward to your call or email.

Important NewsEffective January 2010, every Superwind 350 will be delivered from the factory with superwind´s new Silent Power Blades.

Over the past several years we began an important project to optimize our already famous “extremely quiet” rotor blades.   Superwind´s engineers went to work with the latest technology tools to integrate special features that could help eliminate noise and vibration without effecting our already ideal power curve.  After extensive wind tunnel tests using sophisticated sound measurement equipment and a special ambient sound elimination software we were able to verify the hard work had paid off.  The audible result is 10 dB (A) sound reduction which compared to the original issue blades is experienced as a 50% reduction over ambient levels.  The core of this success was based on the use of “high technology” developed from the natural environment; the implementation of specially designed structures on both sides of the airfoil, quite similar to a shark skin, which induce micro turbulence during operation resulting in improved aerodynamic and acoustic performance.
